First and foremost I appreciated and thank you very much for visiting my blog.
My name is Ruslie Sophian. My age….! Well…you know me! In my early days I was a motorcycle racer in the Series Production group’s riding the 250cc and gradually upgraded to 500cc Class riding the Kawasaki Z1 900cc during the heyday of the Batu Tiga Racing Circuit and the Esplanade Racing Track in Penang.
After proven my capability, I was sponsored by Castrol Malaysia to run in the GP Motorcycle race together with Wayne Gardner in his early days of motorcycle racing. During the time, the Malaysian riders and the foreign riders are all well collaborated.
After the Harvey Yap ‘Team Necafe’ Ford Escort BDA super saloon car crashed on to the fence at Shell Straight killing 6 innocent children, I decided to quit motorcycle racing. However, one day I was call by a friend to be his rally navigator. And that’s it, I start to be rally navigator for a few rally drivers.
However, the smell of racing fuel and burn rubber on the racing track still haunted me. Then I start to participate in the Series Productions car races. Later I upgraded to the Limited Saloon Car Races driving for Ford and Mitsubishi. But remind you, I never involved in illegal street racing unless I being challenge.
In my career, I can be considered as Jack of All Trades. I was a site-supervisor in the building constructions, later switched it to sales line. I first started from rank and file in car sales. I was with Mazda, Peugeot, Mitsubishi, AMC Jeep, Citroen, Isuzu, Daihatsu and Ford. My last post was the BMW Sales Manager before I was retrenched due the economy downturn in the 80s.
Being jobless during the recession it’s really a hard time for me to meet the end needs for the family. As a golfer at handicap 12, I gamble luck at various golf courses. But when you start losing, there will be a big blow to you.
Finally I ended selling kueh (Malay traditional cookies) by the road side. Life is not easy, especially after you use to live in comfort. I do all sort of things just to earn an honest living. I just pray to God hoping for a change.
Without realizing that I got a hidden talent in writing, I joined the publishing house as a motoring photo/journalist for the motoring magazine. Actually after my schooling days, I never ever reply friends letters. I just don’t like writing. How the hell I can turn to be a writing, only God knows. Later I was appointed to be a weekly motoring columnist for Utusan Malaysia newspaper.
During the time, I’m very much involved in the 4WD recce team and 4WD expeditions planner. Beside that, I do organized the super bike riding trips and treasure hunts. I was also a team manager for few bike and car racing teams.
As at now, even though I’m a rich guy, but I happy as I’m very rich in experiences. I’ve forgotten to mention that in the early days, I was a reserve boxer for the Malaysia team to the SEAP Games in Bangkok. In squash, I represented Terengganu state for the Malaysian Open Squash Competition in Kuala Lumpur. I presume at that time the present Dato Nicol David was just born. Hahahaha…..
At present I’m a film and TV scripts writer. At times I also do acting and directing the programs, especially the TV magazine and documentaries. And now I’m trying my lucks into blogging beside my other business i’e. multi-level marketing on the 4Life Transfer Factor, a nutrition to boast up your immune system.

This table lamp stainglass was hand crafted by me during my free time. I just learn how to do it through a stainglass book which I’ve bought it from the secondhand book shop. Infact it was a lot of try and error before I could master it. Well, it’s so not nice, but I’m happy and satisfied with my achievement.
